After School GCSE Programme

From September 2012 students from around the partnership wil be able to access after school GCSE programmes through the partnership. This will mean that students are able to access a range of courses that they are unable to do at their home school.

OpenOpportunity After School GCSEs require an application form to be completed by the student and their parent or carer and must also be “signed off” by the student’s home school. This is to ensure that students have the right levels of ability and attitude to succeed at the courses – committing to carry out a course after school seems easy at the start of a course but some students find it hard to maintain enthusiasm and effort over the 2 years that are usually required.

All OpenOpportunity After School GCSE courses are open to students from partner schools who are aged 13-15 at the start of the course. They are paid for by the student’s home school and exams for the courses are sat at the delivery centre.
